Homemade Cat Treats That Need Just 3 Ingredients
Just like us pet parents, our furry kitties too need a snack here and there. And what better way to ensure your pet is having nutritious and delicious snacks than making those treats yourself?! Making these cats treats is super easy and takes minimum effort and ingredients. Let’s take a look at three recipes that use only three ingredients to fix a healthy and tasty snack for your floof!
1. Chicken Nuggets
All you need for this recipe is half a cup ground chicken, a third of a cup of oat flour, and a teaspoon of parsley.
Mix these ingredients nicely in a bowl so everything comes together. You can now break this mixture apart by rolling them into half-inch-sized balls. Place these balls on a baking sheet, keep them about an inch apart from each other, and bake them for 15 minutes at 350 degrees in an oven. Take them out hot and crisp. Serve them to your kitty once it has completely cooled down. This recipe is recommended by ASPCA Pet Health Insurance, so it’s completely safe for your cat.
2. Tuna Treats
This treat needs six ounces of undrained tuna, a cup of cornmeal, and a cup flour.
Thoroughly mix all of these ingredients in a bowl by adding a third of a cup of water till they all come together to form a big blend. Now just as we did with the chicken nuggets, break the big mix into smaller, even round balls that are of half an inch in size. You can change the size of these treats depending on what your cat is comfortable with. If the portion sized is too big, they might have some difficulty tearing it up with their small paws.
Place these tuna treat balls an inch apart from each another on a baking sheet and bake it for 20 mins at 350 degrees in an oven.
3. Salmon Cookies
This cat treat requires 10 ounces of undrained salmon, one egg, and two cups of whole-wheat flour.
Grind the undrained salmon in a food processor till it is finely cut. Move this chopped salmon to a stand mixer and add in the egg and the whole wheat flour into it. Start the mixer and let it all come form a dough. If you think the consistency is too wet or dry, add water or flour accordingly. Once the dough has been formed, roll it out onto a clean surface and keep it about a quarter of an inch thick. You can then take a cookie cutter and start cutting out small shapes and placing them onto the baking sheet.
Once done, bake these cutouts at 350 degrees for 20 minutes, or till they turn slightly brown in color. You can even store these treats into a jar for up to two weeks!
